Tamar Valley, Tasmania. July 12, 2013

Travelled up the western Tamar Valley, from Launceston to Greens Beach and then headed to George Town for the night.

First stop was the Tamar Island Wetlands where we walked the fog covered boardwalks in search of wildlife.  It was eerie and beautiful at the same time.  Because of the early hour we had the place to ourselves. Second stop was Brady's lookout which provided a great overview of the region.  After a massive lunch (for Stephen that is) we headed to Beauty Point to find some Platypusses.  Last stop for the day was a visit Greens Beach for views over the Tasman Sea.

Beautiful Black Swans.

Platypus.  A very strange animal.

And the closet relative to the Platypus, the Echidna.
