Sea of Okhotsk: Mal'Minskiy Islands and Fyodora Bay. September 2, 2014

This small group of islets is part of the Dzygdzyrskiy Nature Preserve and we went zodiac cruising amongst them in the morning; we also hovered off mainland Russia to admire a couple of Steller's eagles. The area is rich in wildlife, specially birds: puffins, murres, auklets, murrelets and again the Spectacled Guillemot.
After repositioning the ship some 30 miles / 45 km to the north we landed at Fyodora Bay where we went ashore and enjoyed a nice walk.

Morning zodiac cruise.

Birds everywhere.

And more birds.

We found 2 Steller's eagles while cruising off the mainland coast.

Back to the ship.

Hike in Fyodora Bay.
